Learned that my Uncle, Cloyd Osborne, passed away tonight about 7:00. He moved to Butler from Sandy Lake in the late 60s or early 70s and started the Methodist church near the VA Hospital. He volunteered and worked at the VA Hospital for over 30 years too.
When he started the church one of the members was an engineer on the Bessemer and arranged for my uncle to ride from Butler to North Bessemer and I think back to Butler. So, he got the ride on the beloved Bessemer that I never have.
So, another WWII Vet has left this life...I believe he was in Patton's Army, but he never talked much about the war as many combat vets don't.
Best,
Todd
