Albion1, nose heralds were on both ends of all the SD-18's, SD-38's, SD-38AC's, and SD-38-2's from EMD until the modification to the sand fill hatches were made. The SD-18's and SD-38-2's had black emblems, the SD-38's and SD-38AC's were white. These emblems were high on the nose because the sand fill hatch was still on top. They were not low on the nose like the current faux-emblems.
SD-38-2 #875 sits in the anti-spam yard complete with black nose emblems
