Your email is part is a very concerning trend across the country. First of all, US Steel Security has no right WHATSOEVER to remove ANYONE from any piece of public property. Furthermore, local police have no right to prohibit photography from any public area. I would urge anyone if confronted by US Steel Security while on public property to (politely) stand their ground and ask to speak to a supervisor. Get names and phone numbers. Make phone calls. If confronted by a police officer and asked to leave someplace, obviously comply, but get the officer's badge number and the name of his or her supervisor (again politely) and make a follow up call to complain and re-assert your right to do what is perfectly legal. Just because 9-11 occured does not mean you suddenly lose your rights. Stand up for them or they will be taken away.
