Although the steel business is far from what it was in years past and railroad security is not as evident as it used to be, keep in mind that you still may encounter the authorities at the Bull Run Crossing as well as other locations. I had a friend from Johnstown sitting at the crossing earlier in the year to observe and photograph trains and a West Mifflin police officer asked him to leave. The area of the Toot N Scoot convenience store in Duquesne that overlooks the Port Perry area is another area where US Steel Police have asked railfans to leave as well. Even though you are on property that is not owned by the railroad, security officers have had the authority to remove "suspicious" people. The railroad is relying on the local police departments to enforce trespassing issues. Remember, it is a 9-11 world out there!
