Bob,
Your best bet is Bull Run crossing which sits down in the valley separating Duquesne and West Mifflin. It is well lit for southbounds climbing up the steep grade from the river. This is on the main stem of the Union running from ET and the class yard to Mifflin, Clairton, and Irvin. I'd say there is an average of 1 move an hour through there, which is probably the busiest spot on the railroad. You are also in close proximity to the Dravosburg Tunnel, which can be shot from the overhead highway bridge at the north end. Best bet with the URR is to sit and wait at a place like this. Trains can work for hours in a yard and then depart for their next stop, allowing you little time to relocate. The other good spot is mornings off the US 30 Westinghouse Bridge, which gives you a side benefit of shoot NS trains too....but this is better done in the summertime when the light is in the northeast...kinda cold up there right now and the whole area is under construction to boot.
