As of wednesday evening at 6pm, there was a typical 4 unit URR set departing south from the NORTHBOUND empty yard with a long cut of loaded hoppers. Once this train was gone, there was two stings of empties in the northbound empty yard, a short string of loaded hoppers in the west yard, and the same 4 center flows and 2 empty KEYX cars in the east yard that have been there for over a month. It appears that NONE of the east yard tracks have seen any movements in a very long time. Heres an idea, would the BLE benifit from getting into the freightcar storage business? It seems to be a trend down here along the AVR and SWP. With so much empty yard trackage and sidings, seems this may work for the BLE. Any thoughts....?
