Description
CN is seeking a Journeyman Locomotive Electrician for our Greenville, PA location.

Requirements
* A Mechanical Department Electrician performs electrical inspections, maintenance, and repair activities on locomotives in the repair shop or on service tracks and, sometimes on other railroad equipment/property.
* Electricians periodically inspect locomotive components following Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and company standards;
* repairing or replacing smaller components (e.g. circuit breakers, relays, etc.);
* monitoring electrical components to troubleshoot any problems;
* testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment;
* and performing other essential and nonessential functions as assigned.
* Requires a minimum education of a high school diploma or GED.
* Also requires an aptitude for learning and passing written pre-employment tests administered by railroad.
* Successful completion of a 4-year apprenticeship is required to be considered a Journeyman Electrician.
* Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
* A Journeyman Electrician must be qualified to perform electric and acetylene welding.
* An Electrician must also be able to recognize and distinguish colors of light, wire, diodes, resistors, etc. Electricians are frequently required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather and may be exposed to heat, cold, water, oil, grease, battery acid, fumes, and noise.
* The work schedule of an Electrician is generally regular but may include day, night, weekend, or holiday work hours, as well as overtime.
