Is it true that Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg once dressed in white during a papal event? I thought that only Catholic female consorts of Catholic monarchs (reigning or abdicated) are eligible for the said privilege. Accordingly, Queens Paola and Mathilde of the Belgians can wear white attire in the presence of the Holy Father, but not Princess Elisabeth ...

In light of recent developments in Luxembourg, I'm assuming that the number of women enjoying the privilege has now been extended to eight -- correct?
