In this case unfortunately someone else had to step in but at least it's done and the monarchy will weather this storm. Henri will not have to leave his post and their oldest son gets the chance to enjoy his first child.
In a few months we'll see a happy young family and of course two proud grandparents in some of those photo's as well. That will smooth things out a little bit more. In the end it's about the survival of the monarchy. Henri's reign is not the safest in the Nassau line. However it seems unlikely that he will be forced out and from all i get about Guillaume he is going to be a safe caretaker of the role when his day comes. Under Henri two important changes have been implemented: 1 the monarch is no longer part of the legislation (he no longer signs laws) and 2 the court is reformed to protect the monarchy from individual behaviour from within the Grand Ducal family that is unacceptable for the nation.
I am not sure I would llike to be "protected" against myself because of my bad temper and unability to mange staff. I would consider that a rather harsh rebuff.
You can also interpret it as a way to protect her from further comments. MT is a passionate woman who can achieve great things when she wants to, unfortunately it seems that at time that same passionate nature has a less pleasant outcome.
In future she will not be able to make such calls and is by that protected from the flaws in her character.
By this means that the Grand Duchess has no manegerial function or any rights about any staff. Her function is purely representative, which must be seen as a rather clear (and deserved, it seems) rebuff of Maria Teresa.
