Arrivée au Kenya pour une mission de trois jours de l’UNICEF en tant que Présidente d’honneur d’UNICEF Belgique. Cette mission de terrain permet de visiter et encourager le travail de l’Unicef sur le terrain et ainsi de contribuer à la protection et au respect des droits de l’enfant. Aujourd’hui, une visite au camp de réfugiés de Kakuma est au programme, ce camp est situé dans le Nord du Kenya, à proximité de la frontière avec le Sud Soudan, et accueille plus de 180.000 réfugiés. A bord du vol vers le camp, des articles de secours d'urgence et du matériel scolaire.

Aankomst in Kenia voor een driedaagse UNICEF-zending als Erevoorzitter van UNICEF België. Deze missie maakt het mogelijk het werk van Unicef ter plaatse te bezoeken en aan te moedigen en zo bij te dragen aan de bescherming van de kinderrechten. Vandaag staat een bezoek aan het vluchtelingenkamp van Kakuma op de agenda, dit kamp ligt in het noorden van Kenia, vlak bij de grens met Zuid-Soedan en telt meer dan 180.000 vluchtelingen. Aan boord van de vlucht naar het kamp reizen er noodhulpartikelen en schoolmaterialen mee ter ondersteuning.

This field mission makes it possible to visit and encourage UNICEF's work and contribute to the protection and respect of children's rights. Today, a visit to the Kakuma refugee camp is on the agenda, this camp is located in northern Kenya, near the border with southern Sudan, and hosts more than 180,000 refugees.
