I like the paintings very much and they were brand new last summer.
Much more difficult, with dark & light in the vestibule to take a good picture of the portrait of the King:
Yes, those larger-than-life paintings caught my attention too
I have read somewhere that they were made by the Uruguayan painter Osvaldo Leite, who also gave King Philippe some advise for his own work. Don't know if that's true but well, that was what Belgian papers mentioned at the time of the summer opening of the Royal Palace in Brussels when King Philippe also showed his painting of his late uncle King Baudouin.
