This was a follow-up of questions being raised in Dutch parliament about the involvement of the royals in the company.
For those who follow this Board and are non-Dutch: there is much commotion in the Netherlands about all the damage caused by the activities of the NAM which, for decades, has been exploiting the gas reserves in the northern parts of the Netherlands. In the past few years those northern parts have suffered much from earthquakes, which all were caused by the aforenamed activities by the NAM (owned by Shell!).
The Dutch government has been rather reluctant in acknowledging cause & effects (=financial compensations!)
It is therefore very (v.e.r.y.!) remarkable that the Dutch Court now, all of a sudden, has issued a statement saying the King has no shares in Shell.
To be frank: the statement does not say which other members of the RF have shares in Shell, although it is known Princess Irene has (for decades!) fought against the way Shell exploits areas in Africa (oil!).
Anyway...the statement by the RVD is an interesting one and will surely be used in parliament when discussing the million $claims from the people in the northern parts of the Nerlands whose homes have been damaged!
