: As descendants of various English princesses
: from the Hanover dynasty all Dutch monarchs
: and born dynasts up until Princess Christina
: can claim UK citizenship as they were born
: in line of succession to that throne.
No-one can claim UK citizenship just by being in line of succession to the British throne. Prior to 1949 when it was repealed, any descendant of Electress Sophia of Hanover could claim British citizenship under the terms of the Sophia Naturalisation Act of 1705. This still applies to former Queen Beatrix and her siblings as they were all born before the Act was repealed. It does not apply to the present monarch as he was born too late. However, if his mother applied for and obtained UK citizenship he could apply for it himself as the child of a British citizen. Just being in line of succession however is no longer sufficient.
