A Dutch state visit to Germany makes sense it's our neighbour and most important economical partner. A visit to Denmark is less clear but has several motives to understand. It's queen is our King's godmother and the peoples of both nations have similar ideals.
France is another big European power so also a clear destination for an early state visit. The same with Poland, the Poles where part of the liberation forces and the Dutch Royals have always shown a major interest in the newly freed east of Europe.
What i don't get is why there has not been a State Visit to the UK (possibly our second or third economical market) since the early 80's. A state visit to Italy is strange considering that we have more dealings with the UK or Spain and those countries are also monarchies so i'd expect them to be visited before Italy.
