Yes! Yes! Yes! Spot on Joris!
Let me tell you- for every post that I put up on this board or others, there are at least 3 that I don't. Why? Because I try to take the time make sure I have really thought about what I want to say. And if I decide I haven't then I don't post it.
It's easy today to fire off an email or message board post with your first reaction ["shooting from the hip" as we call it], maybe even too easy.
Reflect & reconsider, I say! We'd all be better off IMHO. Then again I am from the pre-Internet generation. Think *dinosaur*

: Yep.
: The one-liner or headline culture has always

: With the speed of the light. Non reflected,
: non digested. Thinking needs time. But there

: I think that the internet caused this.

: Me too, I notice it personally.
: Years ago I wrote and received long
: letters...
: Written after considering, reconsidering,
: self-correction, analysis, self-analyses and
: describing the life one lives, putting
: things in perspective, in a wider context
: perhaps (if I wrote a good letter, that
: is...
: The immense quantity of emails I see in my
: "inbox" and "sent
: emails" I sometimes cannot
: understand... Sent in the flash of a
: second... And especially when one deletes
: hundreds of them to create space... All
: thoughts gone with the wind...
:
: I don't think people have become more dumb.
: It's just the time one needs to think.
