Huh? i thought the PM stated that instead of the entire Royal House being able to declare their private travel costs the group would be limited to those receiving a State income (HM, the prince and his wife)???
I agree that it is unbelievable how absent HM seems in this current crisis. Im stunned she did not gather the right kind of people in her household to warn her for these consequences. Much of the upheaval is predictable and could have been prevented if the Royal House itself had acted. Having to wait until parliament starts asking questions and wants changes is not exactly smart or good PR for the institution.

: Thank you John in Assen for your very
: 'recognisable' review here!
: It is most of all this 'being-out-of-touch
: with-reality" thing I don't only notice
: myself but get to hear from people I know
: & those I meet at royal
: exhibitions/correspond with.
: Most of the overall & harsh critism is
: directed towards the Prince of Orange and
: his wife indeed, but there's also this 1980
: mood again (RF having the State of the
: Netherlands restore several Palaces for
: millions of Euro's ) in these times of
: recesssion !!!
: I am still very much surprised how Queen
: Beatrix has been absent in this whole
: discussion!
:
:
: The announcement that the Prince of Orange
: and his wife would no longer be allowed to
: travel for free (privately) was also
: mentioned in news-paper articles and was met
: with wide approval.
: Ought to have been done earlier in my
: opinion!
