Thank you John in Assen for your very 'recognisable' review here!
It is most of all this 'being-out-of-touch with-reality" thing I don't only notice myself but get to hear from people I know & those I meet at royal exhibitions/correspond with.
Most of the overall & harsh critism is directed towards the Prince of Orange and his wife indeed, but there's also this 1980 mood again (RF having the State of the Netherlands restore several Palaces for millions of Euro's ) in these times of recesssion !!!
I am still very much surprised how Queen Beatrix has been absent in this whole discussion!

The announcement that the Prince of Orange and his wife would no longer be allowed to travel for free (privately) was also mentioned in news-paper articles and was met with wide approval.
Ought to have been done earlier in my opinion!
