We don't know there is no example of a Catholic queen in a protestant House visiting the pope. Maxima will be the first (assuming the Dutch monarchy survives long enough, she becoming queen-consort and the Vatican still being visited by foreign heads of state at the time Willem IV visits Italy).

: Remains interesting to see what Princess
: Máxima will wear. If she has the style
: 'Princess of the Netherlands' (as the Royal
: House Act 2002 now states) as a Consort,
: then she for sure will appear in black. If
: she is known by the title Queen Máxima, then
: she is on itself a Catholic Queen in a
: reigning dynasty and could have the right to
: wear white in front of His Holiness.
:
:
: Is that 'privilège du blanc' connected to
: the personal faith of a queen (like in your
: example of the future Queen Máxima) or isn't
: it connected with the house's faith (e.g.
: the Catholic Archhouse Habsburg)? Could a
: Queen of a non catholic house really wear
: white in front of HH The Pope when she (and
: only she) is catholic?
