Remains interesting that Princess Gracia wore black when she made an official visit to the Vatican.
Maybe the House of Monaco is seen as like Houses as Croÿ, Von Thurn und Taxis, de Merode, de Bourbon de Parme, etc. who do not have the privilège du blanc either.
Remains interesting to see what Princess Máxima will wear. If she has the style 'Princess of the Netherlands' (as the Royal House Act 2002 now states) as a Consort, then she for sure will appear in black. If she is known by the title Queen Máxima, then she is on itself a Catholic Queen in a reigning dynasty and could have the right to wear white in front of His Holiness.
But I like black lace as well. Pearls and diamonds do wonderfully on black.
