At the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum two days ago Princess Laurentien attended the presentation of "De Gouden Penseel" (The Golden Brush) for Best Illustrator of a Children's Book to Sieb Posthuma.
She attended this as a friend and "co-worker" for Posthuma has also illustrated the Princess's first children's book Mr. Finney and The World Upside Down, which will be published end of this month (it will also be available as a cd).
This book news has been posted here before but the fact that Posthuma now has won the price makes me extra curious as to how to the book will look like.
Laurentien says she has a wonderful artistic chemistry with the illustrator/author and that they "worked day and night" on the book...
The plans are is that Mr. Finney will be a series of books.
Interesting difference between the book and the cd is that Laurentien is called "Laurentien van Oranje" on the cover of the former and "Prinses Laurentien" on the cover of the latter.
The book is read on the cd by famous Dutch actor Willem Nijholt, with whom the Princess has had a very intense and mutually inspiring working relationship as well, the Princess and Nijholt told us!
Hey, Constantijn...!
