Interesting suggestion: the Oranges need a court jester (hofnar) again. To criticize them once in a while. To keep them sharp. To hold them a mirror. And to keep the support of the people.
Willem-Alexander and Máxima seem to be the typical representatives of a global elite which seem to neglect their national roots.
At the same time the major part of the electorate (limiting their world to their direct local/regional surroundings) has come to dislike any form of a distant international elite that causes all their problems...

(Newspaper AD has a similar article (about the crownprincely couple having become world citizens instead of Dutch citizens. There is a growing gap.)
Food for thought for our Royal Flying Dutchmen and our dear Majesty (who seems more national and if international more "European"...).
Is all this criticism a futile storm in a cup of tea? Or an unfortunate combination of incidents?
Or essential for the future of the Dutch monarchy?
Time will tell.
But I am afraid HM's desk has stacks of articles to read about Her House by now...
But I am afraid: the more criticism, the more stubborness.
Or?
(Just read: Princess Christina's assets are now taken care of an asset manager in Henri's Eindhoven btw... Not by the Royal Treasurer at the Palace that is)
