Her Majesty The Queen has opened the new headquarters of the Centraal Bureau voor Statistiek (CBS), the Central Statistics Office, in Heerlen (Limburg).

The Queen was welcomed by the Governor of Limburg (L) and the Mayor of Heerlen (R)

The Queen seems impressed with the building

Mrs C. van Eijk, one of the call center employees, explains the Queen how the call center works

The CBS-building is designed with the aim to get a maximum of sustainability. The building is warmed with water which comes from sources under the ground (former coalmines).
