says to ALL: *The Laurius River drains a great deal of rain-forest, so it is quite a mighty river. It also goes to the sea, and is an estuarial river. Since the westbound river turns south before it hits the sea, it doesn't get as much ocean inflow as if the tides dragged the ocean straight upriver, and is freshwater nearly to the point where the river turns south. The mouth of the river is a vast estuary, so wide that it is hard to tell where the river ends and the sea begins. But, even a hundred miles inland, where our boat is docked near an Exchange Point, the river is wide enough that one can see all the way across, but not make out much, if any detail, on the opposite shoreline.*

says to ALL: *I had caught a large ocean-fish during high tide yesterday, a fish as big as my leg. Now pieces of the white-meat are wrapped in seaweed, slowly steaming beneath a pile of coals and ashes from the firepit. It has been another warm day, and I will regret leaving, but having looked at the tidal forecasts, I thing we want to get underway tonight or tomorrow, because the tides will be weak, the lunar tide negating the solar tide, which will make our journey downriver easier, and our transition to seafaring much easier. Since we have only sail power, if we wait too long, we could be stuck in Lydius for days, unable to fight the tide enough to get out to sea.*

says to ALL: *Continuously, despite what I try to ponder, my thoughts turn back to Laetare. Some of sex-fantasies, that seem to come to my mind unbidden, are ludicrous. Perhaps I am just confused, because it has been so long since I actually cared for anybody. I remember how Lyssa Storm used to tell me that she didn't feel anything anymore, that her emotions were dead inside her. Nor did it take long for her body condition to synch up with that emotional state. How I had pitied her that she lost that. But there I'd gone and done it too, until Lae broke down those barriers. But at least the barriers were solid, I knew what they were and where they were. This is way different, changing every day, like where the river meets the sea.*
