I'm sure Homeschooling has many advantages, and sometimes I wish I had had the courage and the energy to try it, but . . . I can say (for whatever it's worth) that my D and my family LOVE our public school. No, it's surely not perfect, but it is a wonderful community - a slice of the real world (warts and all)that has been, on balance, very good to us. At this point, I wouldn't have D anywhere else. Some real opportunities and advantages that wouldn't be available to homeschooled kids - (and btw I know a LOT of them, and I know the issues). I continue to think public school is a really good choice (for my kid, in my town).
Hope it works well for you and yours too. Anyway, you gotta do what you gotta do - having a sane and healthy and together mom is probably worth more to them than whether you homeschool them or not.
