We just received a phone call last night that my brother-in-law's mom passed away from H1N1 complications. She had the flu for just one week, started having difficulty breathing this past Sunday, went into the doctor on Monday morning, he sent her to the ER right away, and she progressively got worse over the next several hours. A VERY rapid descent. She died at 7:15 p.m. that same day. My niece and nephews were so close to her, so they are going to have a really hard time with the loss. We'll probably be going to the funeral in a few days. But, now I'm worried about H1N1 exposure to my kids. The cousins will surely hang out together, and my kids have not been able to get vaccinated yet. I called our ped to see what she thinks. I am SURE I am just being overly cautious and a bit paranoid, but when a healthy person dies in your family it's just so hard to not think it could happen to you. Know what I mean? Sigh.
I've heard of so many people dying from this on the news, but it feels so sad when it happens closer to home. :-(
