The cover is useless. Sure, things take place in Chinatown but it's nothing but poser at best AND they go with the wrong costume. Is his cape getting tangled around his neck - that seems problematic. The inside art has been consistent Sienkiewicz-lite for the volume which was nicely 'different' at first but has become merely functional - it needs more details and pizzazz at this point. Mr.Knight's Vampire Nation set-up was interesting negotiation intertwined page for page with Hunter's Moon nuff-said fight with Tutor's 2 forgetable superlackeys. We also get another example of Marvel pushing alpha female empowerment/presence with the introduction of Lady Yulan. She is older than Dracula and fancies herself his equal and also warns of her evil mentor the Dread Immortal Yi Yang who is her elder and superior. MK does some decent posturing and he preps for the next Marvel Undead Battle. How long before Drac and Blade show up? Marvel usually drops the ball with presenting MU Vampires in some way, so here's hopin' it's done well this time.
THAT'S how Soldier was sired? So, it's just blood touching vampiric blood does it? Nothing with the mystic/symbolic fang bites? All things considered, is there little drama with that last page death? Especially since Khonshu can just bring him back again? Marvel recycling it's heroes anyway they can is SO boring in this age of Kraklones.
Peace to Ukraine...
