In those issues, MK often dealt with a pyschotic non-powered villains. Those stories were gritty and the conflict was usually resolved by the end of the issue.
The difference here is that these first two issues dealt with ex-military revenge stories.
I'm hoping for more pyschological-type thrillers in future issues.

: I'm sure it'll expand into ongoing plots, but
: I think to establish this new take on the
: character, Ellis wanted to do one shots for
: the first arc. Personally, I'm loving it so
: far.

: It was cool. I was hoping for more,
: especially
: in the plot development of the series.
: This was basically a One-Shot with no real
: ties to past or future as far as I can tell.
: Art was AWESOME as Declan Shalvey is turning
: into one of my new favorites.
: For a #2 issue I kind of expected some sort
: of cliff hanger or something to make me
: impatient for the next issue but I didnt get
: that sense.
: The quality of the art and the reputation of
: Ellis is enough to keep me comming back. I
: hope to see the series plot expand in the
: near future.

: Well, that was... interesting. Interesting
: in that it helps show the pleasantly
: stylistic that will be this book - not as
: literary praise of the content. It wasn't a
: bad adventure but it wasn't fulfilling
: either.
:
: The sideways cover grabbed my attention -
: 'til closer examination had it make less
: sense. The MOON KNIGHT banner on it was fine
: for the premiere but it steals too much art
: space as a regular thing and the strip
: should be thinner. And the cresent of the
: moon is obvious but in relation to the
: skyline should not be eclipsed that way -
: unless it was MK's glider of which it didn't
: look like.
:
: The prologue setup went on too, too long.
: Clever but, let's 6 victims, would've moved
: things along in 2/3 the time and pagespace.
: Heck, even less victims would have given us
: more meaningful Moon Knight seeing how this
: is only his 2nd issue to hook readers.
:
: The fight was awesome and arguably saved the
: issue. The choreography was fast and furious
: with lots of neat POV imagery. Very little
: content though. And such an instant
: blabbering confession from a throwaway
: assassin and then a throwaway nobody
: character taking care of the problem did not
: do justice for Moon Knight as this series'
: superhero star.
:
: MK's moon discs slice thru metal handguns.
: Not much else to say about this ish.
:
:
: I miss Dad and Dan.
