The "white hood" thing just seemed to be a passing quote, but it just comes out of nowhere, and, yea, it does feel really forced. I guess the one of the themes of the AvX event is supposed to be about racial/cultural inequality, but Frenzy's little joke falls mighty flat.
Isn't his hood supposed to be silver anyways?

: I haven't picked this up yet, but I read a
: review of it that also pointed out the heavy
: handed way to Avengers are portrayed as the
: bad guys in the issue and how it was
: probably intentional since this is an
: X-title (home title advantage.)
:
: I think it's a poor decision to make three
: characters who are notable for their
: objectivity or iconic status among a
: marginalized minority into symbols of
: oppression. She-Hulk has represented
: supervillians in court (sometimes villains
: she had a hand in bringing to justice) so
: you'd think she'd be pretty open-minded.
: The Falcon may as well be Marvel's avatar of
: racial equality and, while his stories have
: rarely dealt with intolerance, Moon Knight's
: been consistently shown as someone without
: social prejudices.
:
: My take on what I've seen is this book is
: being written from the point of view of the
: mutants, specifically the students. It's
: basically their version of what happened.
: If this were an Avengers title, maybe the
: dialogue would sound different with the
: X-Men taking on a more aggressive tone. I
: haven't read the Avengers Academy tie-in,
: but I'd be interested to see if that's the
: angle they took.

: Probably some attempt on social commentary
: on
: the relationship between Moonies outfit and
: the customary KKK uniform... Either way,
: doesn't come across too funny. I don't like
: the implication that he's racist either.

: Don't really get the implied racism,
: especially when he's standing next to
: Falcon.
