Credit where credit is due: this ish was enjoyed. 1 for 4. Not great odds but better than 0 for 4.
Was the New Avengers sequence funny? Little bit! :D Of course, the chronology was maddening and the Thing looked awful but Logan was reading that Playboy mag in the open to distract readers and Carol's phone conversation did have some fun to it.
Having to accept the new personality thing dumped on us, this psychosis was easy reading. The sides of Marc matched with the iconic-demographic grabbing hero that was speaking and the colored word bubbles are definitely the distinctive way to go. Fun scene when he tells 'them' to go too.
First date was perfectly awkward. And the Bendis-banter between them was good because it did have some concrete character bits to think about.
Meeting up with the Night Shift was done in an impressive splash page but a little jarring EVEN KNOWING that Tick Tock messes with timeflow so that could have been done better for newer readers nothing else. Plus there really should be some names thrown around by now - dont let this title fall back into THAT trap.
The fight was quite decent. The noticable absence of Snapdragon probably added to the mystique of her new MU status. Hopefully the absence of normal people/cast, though, is not another title trap it falls into again. The talking with a mask detail was welcome. Be neat if someone comments that Echo has her own built in silencer the next time she is totin'.
The art style was fit the story okay all thru.
Not only an exciting cliffhanger but refreshingly only 1/3 of a page in a scene that could have easily had excuse for another indulgent splash.
