The Hood did lose his powers and connection to Dormamu, but Loki gave him some norse stones that are supposed to make him even more powerful. Of course the way that MK can lag when it comes to big happenings, I wouldn't be surprised if this was still the Dormamu powered Hood.
I loved this issue. It's great to see MK focused and driven, from his back and forth with the Sentry to the orders he lays out for the Tinkerer. The interaction with the supporting cast was great for fans and served to further define the main character. And the Profile, man what a great character. Then there's the take down of the Slug to get at the Hood (Crawley gets some damn good intel)... for a build up issue it seems like a lot actually happeved in this book, which speaks to some great pace-setting. I am really digging Hurwitz, and I'm willing to give Opena some liscense on the build because I am loving his art. Pumped for #3.

: Yeah, it was Tinkerer. The Hood, in the
: recent punisher arc, brought like 30
: villains back to life to kill frank castle,
: but they have to do it in thirty days or
: they die again. so yes, the hood can bring
: people back from the dead because he is
: connected now permanently dormammu.

: I think the old man is the Tinkerer. He make
: gadgets (duh). I just saw him in a recent
: title but hell if i know which one.
: I liked the Sentry putting his two cents in
: and MK giving it right back to him.

: So who is the old guy who builds him stuff?
: Are we supposed to know him?
:
: It was great to see the old cast again,
: though I was surprised to see Frenchie in a
: wheelchair. Did he have to sell his metal
: legs or something? I have to mention how
: great the art is. It is probably the best
: thing about the new series actually. Loved
: seeing the Profile again, though I'm a bit
: confused as to how Bushman is to be revived.
: Still, It was a good issue and it seems to
: be building up to be a promising arc.

: issue 2 was great, good to see Jake rallying
: the troops, great to see the profile again,
: especially catching a headache from trying
: to get a read MK, and it looks like the hood
: is going to resurrect bushman, the pacing
: was great and it left me wanting more...
: once a month is a long time to wait...
