Whilst some people may assume that the likes of the Punisher must be mentally ill - otherwise why would he do the gorrible things he does? - the Punisher is in fact probably the sanest man in the Marvel Universe and that is in itself one of the things that make his actions so interesting.

The thing that makes Moonknight so interesting is that there is no doubt that he is straight-out mentally ill, a full blown schizophrenic amongst other things. That raises all of those interesting questions about whether Khonshu is real or not and frankly in 30+ years of telling tales about MK its a question they still havent answered yet, preferring to leave that to the readers imagination to decide.

Okay, carving moons on his villains heads is a little hokey but that can easily be overlooked in favour of the many other things that make Moonknight an interesting character who is completely unique when compared to the likes of Batman or the Punisher.
