Look, I'm no dummy and I am sure Marc Spector is not truly dead, but it feels like a cheap trick of a storyline.
Hmmmm... let's "kill" the main character and then we will reveal he did not die and he will return. Hasn't happened before, has it? It is also very similar with the February solicitation or Black Panther, where he is replaced by another.
This could be a cool story depending on how it is told, but the track record so far does not support that. Huston's run was kinda cool and I am somewhat enjoying Benson's run, but as I stated in my fisrt post, you have these little windows of opportunity that get me psyched and then fall short or are not executed well. I hope this is a step in the right direction and is a reflection adn growth for Marc. Hopefully, Marc will get outta dodge with his friends shunning him and having very little support it is an obvious choice under these circumstances. What reall bugged me the most about this solicitation is after reading the last issue and "Khonshu" saying there are others creates an opportunity for this upcoming storyline to make a wrong turn.
On a positive note, the new Dell'otto cover rocks. Much better than the Suydam covers of late.

: Well, Kevin...I feel that The Bottom and
: Midnight Sun are two of the best comic
: stories ever. I have them on my shelf next
: to Watchmen and The Dark Knight. I really
: think Huston's take on MK was something
: special. An ex-mercenary trying to make up
: for past deeds by being just as violent as
: he was before? Brilliant! Oh, yeah...let's
: throw in a talking dead guy so we are
: constantly guessing if he's crazy or not.
:
: True the series has not been up to par since
: Huston and Finch left but, it's the only
: Marvel Title I read right now for a reason.

: I know the discussion regarding this just
: started in the end of the other thread, but
: I felt this warranted it's own focus
: discussion.
:
: In my opinion, this could be the end of the line
: for me with this title. I've put up with the
: silly white costume, the in your face
: Khonshu and the rest of editor Axel Alonso's
: crap. Clearly, his comprehension of the
: character is way different than mine. I'm
: not asking for a regurgitation of the
: Moench/Sienkiewicz stuff, but there are key
: elements in that run that defined the
: character and made him unique. There have
: been sparse morsels of that potential
: dispensed throughout this series so far, but
: I am still starving for a great/good Moon
: Knight series.
:
: I'm tired of waiting for this series to be
: great/good, as this character has the
: potential to be. Tired of Axel trying so
: hard to make him not like Batman and not
: allowing the character to just be.
: Everything feels so forced to me. This title
: needs a new editorial home and a new
: creative team before this title slides
: completely off the sales charts into
: oblivion, again.
