Moonknight was/is one of my favorite heroes in Marvel Universe. Back in the late seventies, I was looking at my friend's comic book(Two-in-One)Thing and Moonknight. They were fighting these men inside a building or somewhere. I like the way Moonknight uses his weapons and displays his martial arts moves and glides through the air/the sky. Soon,Moonknight had grown on me. Later, I started to collect Moonknight for a short while. Suddenly, I lost interest in Moonknight. To me. Moonknight wasn't facing bigger challengers or confronting tougher villains. Until Mr.Huston and Mr.Finch have given me a change of heart collecting Moonknight all over again. I hope Moonknight series continue on without stopping.
: Okay, so i first saw Moon Knight in a total of
: about four panels in Busiek and Perez's
: Avengers #1 volume 3, where he basically
: says he doesn't want to be involved in
: Avengers business because he doesn't want to
: be a part of the Avengers. This rubbed him
: the wrong way with me, and i immediately
: identified him as an uncool, unpopular, and
: unoriginal Batman copy. Then, almost a
: decade later, i walk into my comic shop and
: pick up Moon Knight #1 with art by David
: Finch, who i previously read in Avengers
: Disassembled. I realized just how wrong i
: was! I began looking into the background of
: this character, and at that point i realized
: what a naive, ignorant 9 year old i was! The
: character depth, the complexity of Moon
: Knight and Marc Specter and the supporting
: cast are just amazing to me! Certainly the
: comparisons to Batman can be made, but this
: character exceeds the archetype that Bob
: Kane created in the GOlden Age of comic
: books. Many criticise Marvel for being so
: interested in the "grim and
: gritty" but for Moon Knight that
: atmosphere is a necessity. So i now consider
: him my top 10! Thanks to Charlie Huston (who
: apparently is leaving the title soon?) and
: David Finch (leaving after 9 i think?) for
: helping me onto the bandwagon before you two
: talented artists pass on the torch.
: In case you were curious
: My Top Ten
: 1. Captain America
: 2. Winter Soldier
: 3. Falcon
: 4. Hawkeye
: 5. Superman
: 6. Green Lantern
: 7. Moon Knight
: 8. Spider-Man
: 9. The Thing
: 10. The Beast
: So # 7 right now. I don't read a lot of
: Spider-Man but i grew up on the cartoons,
: but MK passes him. We'll see how the series
: interests me in the future and see if he can
: move up a spot or two
