If horse slaughter was humane, I would completely agree with you. They are not just shot in the head. I have studied horse slaughter extensively. Unfortunately, it is far from humane - seriously, please look at the videos of it. The horses are loaded into a metal chute, where they are "stunned" repeatedly (the shots are supposed to be hitting their heads, but they flail around in fear and end up being shot in the ear, neck, eye, etc.) until their have been shot many, many times and then finally bleed out. If the arabian horse industry really cares about the horses, they should give them a decent death and at least humanely euthanize them instead of selling them for slaughter.
