I just figured I would pass this along as these guys are all arabs or half arabs with really nice bloodlines.

Sept. 13th at the MCLEAN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS
BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS. The bank behind the auction has promised papers on everything in the sale. These horses are very well bred, but have been neglected lately. A lot of the youngsters are unhandled at this point while a number of the older horses have nice show records. The write ups make it sound like these guys are in nice shape, but people in the area have said otherwise.
"I just talked to my friend who is there right now looking and she said what a MESS. They are beat up, bit up, thin and in bad shape. She said the yearlings look stunted and there are weanlings who should still be on the mares that are not. They are all thin and they can't find some that are listed and they have some mares with foals at their side and have no idea who the sires are. She said it's very very sad."
"A friend of mine called yesterday on his way home from looking at them and said the same thing. He said they look horrible, skinny, potbellied, just a mess. He looked at what he thought was a 2 year old that he liked a lot until he found out it was a 4 year old. He said the bank has already been feeding them FOR A MONTH trying to get them in shape for the sale. There's not enough people working there; there were horses with no water in their stalls; the youngsters are barely handled and most of them were tied to the wall in the stall trying to learn enough about a halter and a lead rope so as to not run away with the new buyers. Deplorable!!!! I am just sick about it."
I know this is a long way from California, but it would be a real shame for these guys to go from a bad situation to a worse one or to end up going for slaughter. Anyone have any ideas on getting a trailer full of these guys out this way? I would if I could, but I am a starving college student right now.
