Yeah, I interpreted it like that too, but I think when the series comes back properly, he may feel the need to embellish on this for a sense if completeness. It never worked as a premium book in the 90's which I remember reading was Alan's reason for leaving (who remembers the gimmick covers and all that rubbish?), so hopefully being just a regular MU book will open it out to a much wider audience. backed by the success of New Excalibur I can feel a Claremont/Davis thing coming on. Who knows maybe The Knights of Pendragon could be coming back especially with the interest of Union Jack.
I've suggested to Alan maybe a cameo from MUK's Dark Angel. We'll see.
