Claremont understands those females and has never gone o0verboard with their power levels which is a good thing IMHO. The Cross-Time Caper was one of the best arcs of the old seris though, IMHO :-) : Which is why I think it is appropriate the I agree for the mos part, but I have to say I won't miss betsy. That's NO because I dislike the character but rather that I just haven't felt she's fit (or achieved anything, for want of a better word!) in this arc. I like her in Uncanny, personally. : Still, I like what Claremont is doing, and I Yep, it's trying and Claremont is kind of following a pattern that worked and he's managing not to repeat his old stories, too blatantly, which I consider a good thing :-) : Long Live Excalibur! I'll definitely second that motion! Cheers. James.

: Some of them are sticking around though
: (I'll
: miss Kurt!) which is a good thing, as so
: much of the line-up works!.
:
: Over-all I agree with you that this was a
: superb issue (it was IMHO anyway!) and I
: have high hopes for this series!)
:
: Cheers.

:
: I recently acquired a good chunk of the
: Claremont/Davis issues of
: "Excalibur" that I was missing
: (mostly consisting of the "Cross Time
: Caper"), and as I read them now it
: strikes me how key Kitty and Ray were to the
: book in those days. Kurt was (as always)
: the fun character, and Brian gets a lot of
: face time due to how much of the series tied
: in with his mythos, but looking at them now,
: its apparent that Kitty and Ray are the main
: characters.
: roles they end up in "New
: Excalibur" #2. Its obvious that
: Claremont likes these two gals and handles
: them and their relationship really well. So
: it is a little disappointing that they more
: than likely be gone (along with Kurt, Betsy,
: and Lockheed) after next issue.
: of course am happy to see Brian and Pete
: kicking around. And hey, the lineup still
: has two non-mutants in it (Brian and Cain),
: so that's at least trying to be like the old
: Excal!
