Posted by Luke I recently acquired a good chunk of the Claremont/Davis issues of "Excalibur" that I was missing (mostly consisting of the "Cross Time Caper"), and as I read them now it strikes me how key Kitty and Ray were to the book in those days. Kurt was (as always) the fun character, and Brian gets a lot of face time due to how much of the series tied in with his mythos, but looking at them now, its apparent that Kitty and Ray are the main characters. Which is why I think it is appropriate the roles they end up in "New Excalibur" #2. Its obvious that Claremont likes these two gals and handles them and their relationship really well. So it is a little disappointing that they more than likely be gone (along with Kurt, Betsy, and Lockheed) after next issue. Still, I like what Claremont is doing, and I of course am happy to see Brian and Pete kicking around. And hey, the lineup still has two non-mutants in it (Brian and Cain), so that's at least trying to be like the old Excal! Long Live Excalibur!
