Puck not being an integral part of this story mirrors AF vol. 1 #1, the connections between the characters are conveyed in a way not seen in years, and Alpha Flight is in a seemingly no-win situation, fighting the Chaos Kings' minions surrounded by cannibalistic Wendigoes in thrall to the Great Beasts who are manifesting to their fullest power on Earth.
This is a true Alpha Flight story.
: I really liked it...There were a few
: in the plot and art, but for the most
: part...it was quite enjoyable.
: Truth be told, I was not impressed. Don't
: me wrong, it was GREAT to see the classic
: Flight again but the story and art really
: didn't jump out at me as awesome.
: Yeah. Agreed. It was those oddities in the
: plot and art that made the circumstances of
: returning them, thusly, forced and
: unsatisfying with...
: Chaos War Alpha Flight #1
: Guess Walt doesnt worry about recycling as a
: short term solution to a long term problem -
: evidenced by his pulling a Peter Parker and
: dealing with the devil.
: Guess Liz isnt as good as her father, too,
: to not have been any mystic help to her dead
: teammates in the waiting room to the
: afterlife - or even know about it[?!].
: Guess Editorial vetoed Puck's return and
: sent him to Hell with Logan but the Twin's
: are allowed to return, even though all the
: other heroes remain in deadsleep, for
: very... 'good' reason - Bullpen Marketing
: Guess throwing in the Wendigos is as obvious
: an story element choice to add to a Canadian
: hero story as making sure there is snow
: involved too.
: Guess this ish brings a banner submission:
: More praiseworthy recaps with details:
: But was did they sway my overall
: disappointment? Guess not.
: I miss my brother.
