To sully his background, with a sorted family history, for the story benefit of another character will be a shock. However, will have to wait and see what happens. Who knows, maybe whatever connection is established will be written to make Guardian even more cool than he already is... His my feedback on WO#15:

Could be jumping the gun, but based on Wolverine Origins so far it looks like Marvel is going to villify the (James) Hudson family name to present Wolverine as even more heroic given his developing (new) history.
