Before, I started collecting the comicbook. I did have doubts about buying the Omega Flight mini series. Later on, I checked out Mr.Kolins artwork at newsarama.com. Then I decided to give him a try. When I bought it the comicbook. I began to like it more allowing myself to look over Mr.Kolins penciling. I like the Alpha Flight very much. Plus Arachne is one of my favorite characters in the story. In the future, I hope Omega Flight goes over five issues. So far, Omega Flight 1# has sold out very quickly.
: Been doing a lot of remodeling on my house to
: get it ready to put on the market and
: haven't had much free time lately to do
: much, let alone read.
:
: Anyway, I just read it and was pleased with
: it, but was kind of disappointed in the
: artwork. I saw Kolins' preview pencils and
: they looked great, but something happened
: between the pencils and finished art that
: really muddied his work. Maybe it was the
: coloring.
:
: I'm glad Walt is in the book. He really was
: taking it to the wrecking crew before they
: all ganged up on him at once. But I have a
: feeling some payback is coming Flight-style.
:
: My only concern right now is that this is a
: five issue mini and Oeming should have had
: the entire team together by the end of this
: issue, but he didn't. Talisman said no
: (although we know she is going to change her
: mind), USAgent and Arachne were said to be
: on the team, but they don't appear in the
: issue, and there's not one mention of Beta
: Ray Bill or the new Guardian.
:
: Oeming HAS to pick up the pacing. I realize
: that he probably already wrote the first few
: issues before the series was reduced to a
: mini (stupid Queseda!) but if that's the
: case, then he should have made some tweaks
: to the story. This is a prime example of why
: comic companies (are you listening Marvel?)
: should NOT solicit a book as an ongoing and
: then change it later on to a mini when the
: creative team already has two or three
: issues in the bag.
:
: Reading this issue really made me miss the
: original AF team and the stories, so I'm
: hoping this mini does well and it gets
: approved for more issues, which will make it
: more likely to see some of the original
: members appearing (like maybe Aurora,
: Northstar, etc. )
