Seeing her in the Police force, and using some detective skills was good though, it was a superb mini and easily the best of the series of "Avengers:Icons" mini-series (I did like the Vision one to, though, but Tigra's was better IMHO!) Cheers. James. --Previous Message--

Your right, IIRC her husband was a member of an extremist branch of the Police force called the Blue fist, or something like that and, IF memory serves, they were responsible for her husbands death.
: I read it, although it's been a while, so I
: only vaguely remember it. But I did like it.
: If I recall correctly, I think there was
: some retconning done with her origin (in
: regards to the death of her husband), but it
: wasn't big enough to matter at all.

: I believe it was written by someone named
: Christina Z with art by Mike Deodato Jr.
: Anyway, it was a VERY good mini, with a good
: story about Greer coming to terms with the
: death of her husband. The story showed a
: more real side of Tigra, in my opinion. If
: you have the power and prowess of a
: were-cat, it makes sense that you'd have a
: bit of the animal instinct and primal
: emotions going in you. This mini showed
: that Tigra could literally rip someone to
: shreds, with little effort. However, unlike
: the short lived John Byrne run on WCA, she
: did not degenerate into an out of control
: and feral Tigra, but kept a very firm grip
: on humanity and her animal side. It was
: like she "tapped" it when she
: wanted to use it, which I liked a lot.
:
: Did anyone else read this? I bought the
: four issue mini on eBay, and since have
: given it away, but it was worth the read.
