It is kinda difficult to see but take a look at the sender. It is on passengerside of center cover. Remove the cam cover and with a small flash light you can see. I had to resolder this on a 86.5 a few months ago. It is difficult when in car, but do able. His symptoms were same as yours, intermittent warning at odd times. Belt tension was perfect, but further inspection showed wire inside of cover was just laying on solder joint. Small bump and warning was set. Hope this helps.
