Okay, this car is in an airplane hanger now, was promoted as low milage with some cosmetic issues. Yes indeed, I give the car an "A" grade for being in good mechanical condition but didn't have the heart to drive it. The paint was so poor, it could have been painted with a spray can and looked better. I understand the car had a car cover on it and it froze, so the story goes. It has never been repainted but I've NEVER seen a paint job like that on any Porsche, it was so poor, stippled and looking every bit like a respray gone bad.
It started and sounded good, the pedals indicated it was probably low milage, interior looked acceptable, but the exterior rubber, window trim spoiler, and overall paint, way below par. Price was way too high, the seller will have to undergo a reality check or troll for a un-informed buyer to come along, which in this market is not a heavy probability. When I heard "that will buff out" I decided to walk, wondering about the "rest of the story".
Overall it was A WASTE OF TIME for me, and for the seller. I wish people selling cars and boats would accurately portray the CONDITION, so as to avoid unnecessary trips like this. The top of this car looked worse than some of those recent Chrysler products that used the water based paint, looking like they went through an automatic car wish with sandpaper.
Ah well, it sure sounded good, but so does the one I allready have that looks 10x.
Live and learn,
P
