Not another 928(man, i wish), but just picked up a 1998 Cadillac Catera, aka Opel Omega. The car is in 95%+ condition, and i got it dirt cheap at one of the auctions i go to. 86,000 original 1 owner miles. This is a car that gets really bad press from some folks because it has some high dollar issues that scare people away (interference engine, anyone?), but i'll tell ya, for anyone that is not scared off by a 928, the catera is right up their alley, and you can get them CHEAP. At any rate, it has a 3.0L twin throttle body ram air V-6, puts out 200hp, and has good ole fashion limited slip RWD. Man does it handle for a 3800lb sedan, and the acceleration, while not up to par by todays luxury sedan standards, is still brisk and quite enough for everyday use (0-60 in 8.5 secs is the time i've seen listed).
The sound system is also absolutely awesome for a factory system(10 cd changer bose), and it has the full array of Cadillac amenities. Heated seats, dual climate control, multi-setting moon roof, the works.
So, if you have $1500-$2000 laying around, and want a REALLY nice German sedan for a 'throw away' daily driver.....go get yourself one of these babies. You won't be disappointed.
