My 82 Weissach has been out of commission going on 2 years now...I chased a coolant leak under the cooling x-over for a year, put her back together, she ran fine, but I noticed a WP leak, pulled her back in the garage, did a TB/WP replacement, put her back together (again) and now the car starts right up, but then won't keep running without the accelerator floored, it sputters/putts for 5-10 seconds, then revs up and sounds fine in the 2500-3000 RPM window, if I let off the gas, it immediately dies, nor can I keep it running smoothly in that RPM band, it requires constant pedal pumping to maintain.
-Checked, re-checked, triple checked the Cam timing - right on the marks
-Checked the ignition timing - aok
-replaced all plugs
-pulled all fuel injectors sent them out to Witchhunter and had them balanced/blueprinted/cleaned
-replaced every vacum line I could find on the vacum diagram
-performed a leak-down test on all vacum parts per vacum diagram on under-side of hood
-verified good fuel and fuel pressure at the rail
I'm at my wits end, does anyone out there have any suggestions and / or have had similar experiences?!?
