Below I asked what your choice would be if you had $60K to spend on a sports car (not a 928) and I've been thinking about the ideas everyone offered. One car that I thought about, but no one else mentioned, was a 911 turbo. I think you could get a low mileage 996 (I think that's the 1999-2004 body style) in that price range. Given this is a porsche site (albeit 928 focused), I was surprised that no one else would advocate the 911 turbo.
