If you overfill the transaxle even a tiny bit, it will force oil out the top of the housing just behind where the tourque tube attaches. (There's an air hole/overflow up there.) It will do it a tiny bit at a time and drive you crazy until it gets back down to about 1 knuckle of your little finger below the fill hole. I wouldn't worry about your exhaust, most of the dripping is on the floor.
