Where are you located? Sounds like you've identified the issue. The black plug (5"?) under the rear carpet gives access the fuel level sender. Pulling that will give an idea of where and how close the tank is. The fix is to drop the tank and then seal the holes. As they're not cracks it should be do-able. Not sure what glue to recommend, likely a two-part that's fuel resistant will work. JB Weld? A used tank runs ~$200 on eBay. $1200 new? Something like that.
