Ok, I will try a bit. I do know she feels everything. I sometimes think she reads my mind. I will start to think about reversing her at a particular spot in the ring and she will get there and reverse.
My next step then will be to put the bit in and then should I lunge her with the bit? I would assume so. I usually do not have a lead on her when I lunge. I instead use the lead as a directional tool. I roll it up and toss it a few feet behind her hind quarters. She seems to know if the lead is in my right hand, she needs to go counter clockwise. etc. I'm in no hurry...had her for 5 years, but work over and over again on each little thing before I add anything new. So we BOTH have confidence.
